Finding Your Way to a PhD in Theology

Dr. Sophia Magallanes and Noemi Palomares talk the walk

Noemí Palomares talks to Dr. Sophia Magallanes about being Bible nerds as "religious kids" and finding "home" in college theology courses. Dr. Magallanes recalls being 12 years old when she learned that one could earn a PhD in theology and how, in the years that followed, she would struggle with the idea of being of more service by becoming a missionary. As Latina scholars of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, Dr. Magallanes and Palomares also discuss their experience of having to compartmentalize identity in theology graduate programs.

To the Classes of 2020 worldwide, HTI Open Plaza congratulates you!
